The Pompano Beach Centennial Committee is searching for the histories of 100 late residents of Pompano Beach who have contributed in some way to the growth and prosperity of the city throughout its 100 year history. These profiles will be published in a journal marking the city's 100th Anniversary in 2008.
Persons who will be profiled will run the full range of ethnicity, religion, and economic status. That is to say, the committee wishes to profile persons who contributed by their labor as farm workers, farmers, merchants, mechanics, grocery store owners, preachers, bankers, developers and politicians, among other endeavors.
Friends or descendants who wish to honor a deceased resident of Pompano Beach may submit answers to the following questions and send them to: Tiger Trail Festival-Centennial Committee, 160 North Powerline Road, Pompano Beach, Florida 33069.
1. Name of deceased Pompano Beach resident.
2. Date of birth and date of death
3. Occupation
4. How did this person contribute to the growth and well-being of the community & family. (This could be through the person's occupation, involvement in politics, involvement in civic or religious activities, involvement in schools, etc. The contribution need not be city-wide, it could be on a neighborhood or a particular group within the community, such as youths). Please limit your reply to approximately 100 world.
5. Do you have a photograph of this person that we may use? All photos will be returned to the sender as long as we are provided with a return address.
